The Guilt of a Single, Working Mum

13 Jul

Random survey – how many of you out there are full time working mums? I’m after some top tips for trying to become guilt free!

I’m not going to be able to go to Lily’s talent contest this week. Only the second school event I’ve missed but I fear not the last. And I feel equal measure of guilt and sadness! It’s not like her second parent can go instead is it?!

I wish I could afford to go part time but as a single mum…never gonna happen!

So, as I reflect on the past academic year for Lily and I, send me your working mum survival tips please!! :-)

You are teaching your daughter how you need to work to earn money, to pay for things in life. Your teaching her the correct way to life. I work full tie. And often away over isn’t i. The week but I know our quality time is at the weekend, mane have a day just for Chloe with friends or going to the park or just simply playing together.

I feel guilty as I am away at an event with work in her birthday, ok it have her daddy to take the day off and be there after school but I think the upside us she can have a party at the weekend of her choice.

At school events make sure one of her friends mummy is there supporting her too, a friend of mine would buy another mum her tickets to additional shows etc to support the daughter – it is about partnerships.

I’ve been having my own bit of ‘working mummy’ guilt lately. I worry that I will miss out on many milestones and events, and pray to God that my kiddies won’t detest me for wanting to provide the very best that I can offer.
